Wonderfully located right on the Baldeneysee with a really great terrace. The food and the wine harmonized well, it would even be five stars ?. Unfortunately, the service that evening was rather manageable. I would have liked to have had a glass of wine with my meal, but nobody felt responsible for us, plates were not cleared, etc. A shame at this level you can expect more

Really well-crafted and yet authentic Greek food with creative accents further developed: Unfortunately, this is not a matter of course, in Cavos it is. Plus a fantastic place with a view of the river. Absolute recommendation!

Some good parts : - nice location. The view and the terrace by the lake are really beautiful. - the owner seemed really nice. He welcomed us and also he stood up as we left which shows that he respects his guests. - good wine choices. - nice welcome ( small dishes served to welcome the guests). Bad parts: -the waiters were wearing their masks under the nose. -the table we were seated at was dirty. -the waiter seemed in a hurry like he just wanted us to finish already. - the tapas with 6 portions : prawns - a good amount of spice but they were not clean- the black part(excretory system of the animal was not taken out), beef carpaccio- no taste, no spices, tzatziki - good, strong flavor, tuna tartar - no flavor at all, no acidity to cook the raw tuna, grilled baby calamari - nicely cooked, manouri with beetroot - the pesto had no flavor, no salt. Good idea but no flavor at all. - main dishes : risotto with huge prawns and fish - aka the biggest disappointment. It cost 40 euro and had around 80g-100g risotto - which was no risotto at all. It was a rice stew like the ones my grandma used to make me but she would use salt and pepper. No taste at all. The big prawns was just half of a prawn with some bisque that was overly salted. Way way overly salted. The other fish was also drowned in salt. I must say I ate it because I didn't eat anything before as I was overly excited to try this restaurant. Kritharoto- a Greek pasta shaped like rice that should have the same coinsistancy as a risotto but was far from it. It was with sea fruits - again prawns that were not cleaned. Very salty. The sea fruit was not cleaned - we found sand in the plate. Conclusion : Far away from the reviews. Way to expensive and overly hyped. If you know your food you will not enjoy it. I would not have written this comment if there would be one or two mistakes as this happens in every business. However, we left 120 euros for 2 people and left feeling thirsty, hungry and disappointed so I had to write my honest opinion. I hope this comment is constructive.

First of all, the location is just fantastic, a wonderful view of the Ruhr! Holiday feeling And the food is simply a pleasure! Starting with a delicious greeting from the kitchen, continuing with a great starter and if you think the main course can't top it ... but it can! All in a 6 out of 5 stars! thank you

I found the bid particularly appealing; we didn't have to wait long for the dish and our drinks. That was great, as we had a huge boil that evening, the decoration on the tables and in the whole restaurant is reasonable and stylish. The toilets are always clean and all in all the restaurant gives a good impression. Not only the nice restaurant staff was the absolute hit when we visited, but also the great climate.

It was another beautiful day for you today. Food, service and atmosphere are all perfect, as always. We are looking forward to September 5th. to be with you again. See you soon.

This place is just magical! The quality is excellent and the view is to die for. We hosted our wedding here and the food was sensational, the organization and the service was more like 6 out of 5 stars! The guests were enthusiastic and became regular customers right away! If you are a fan of fresh and sensational fish and great wine, this is the place for you.

The tables from the restaurant were perfectly cleaned and the seating was very comfortable. The waiters are always very hard-working and always courteous! The restaurant has de facto potential to become my next favorite. For my part, I would have liked to taste my way through first, but then there would have been no more space for the good food.

Since we just wanted to have a drink we didn't feel welcome. The prices were relatively good. If you want to try it out, you should reserve in advance. But for us it is nothing!

The Cavos is located directly on the Ruhr with a very spacious terrace, surrounded by many olive trees. Anyone who knows Greece also knows the “chic” of the restaurants. We were here for the first time and are very impressed. The food is very good, all dishes are freshly prepared, the service is very attentive. If you have time and do not want to eat, drink, pay quickly, but like we would like to spend time with friends, for example, a little bread, olives and wine, before the actual meal and want to enjoy the ambience, this is the place for you . We enjoyed it very much and weren't the last time here!

A beautiful and lovingly decorated restaurant. The heavenly view of the lake is also very beautiful. The service was always courteous and always there. Our favorite restaurant directly on the lake. It was again delicious and best ambience. Yesterday was back, was as always great, even if the weather is not that great. The location on the water is indescribable.

The worst restaurant in the area the food is not so god but very expensive and personal is treating you like you are invisible....Avoid and save your money and your time....

Beautiful restaurant! A very special insider tip in Essen! Certainly also beautiful in summer because of the great location right on the water. Very cozy and the food is excellent! All dishes are very exquisite. My recommendation: Bifteki as a main course and yogurt ice cream with honey and walnuts as dessert!

Beautiful location and great food. The big minus in this place was that they took forever to bring out our food. After two hours of being seated in the restaurant we still hadn't received our main course.

Totally overhyped restaurant. Meals are of good taste, but you just get childrens servings. The price is way too high. Nice atmosphere by the lake.
